This guide helps practitioners in education and beyond conduct an action enquiry in the workplace and produce a report for publication. Sections are organized according to major steps of the action-reflection cycle. Early chapters define the underlying assumptions of action research and give a rationale for using it. Later chapters give instructions for planning and designing action research, gathering data, and testing the validity of claims. A section on disseminating knowledge covers writing a workplace report, writing a report for higher degree accreditation, and publishing. The book's final section explores processes for explaining the significance of research and developing new epistemologies for workplace cultures of enquiry. This second edition contains new case studies in workplaces outside of mainstream education, as well as examples with links.
